So are we required to know the value of pi on the test? From what I understand, pi is always just a term and we are not required to calculate this out....Are there any real GMAT questions that actually have a requirement to caculate pi as 3.14 or 22/7? Thanks

Generally speaking, the answer choices will be in terms of pi, or if they are strictly numerical, they will be approximation questions in which case it suffices to approximate pi to be 3.
