The owners of a theatre receive $5 per ticket sold to a certain performance. How much did the theatre owners receive from ticket sales?
(1) The total revenue from ticket sales was $700. (2) If 30 more tickets had been sold, the theater owners would have received 30 percent more money from ticket sales.
Since it is mentioned that total revenue is equal to $700 in choice A, which is what the question in asking, as to how much did the theatre owner receive from ticket sales? Pl explain.
Let X be the number of tickets sold. If each ticket sold is 5 dollars, and the total revenues are 700 dollars, then we have 5X= 700, solving for X will give us the number of tickets sold. So the number of tickets sold is equal to X = 700/5 = 140 tickets.
