please explain why equilateral hexagons can have its interior angles not equal to 120 degrees. thanks.

the key word is equilateral. If we take the hexagon and segment it in to triangles, the triangles will all be equilateral triangles. And, as we know, equilateral triangles have all 60 degree angles.
